Plural Psychotherapist and Counsellor in Richmond and Twickenham

About me

Welcome to my website. My name is Matthew Gould and I am a Plural Psychotherapist based in Richmond and Twickenham, London. My therapy training covers CBT, ACT, DBT, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic.

I provide therapy face-to-face, by telephone and online. I work with depression, forms of anxiety such as stress, social anxiety, phobia, GAD, panic and health anxiety, I also work with low self-esteem and anger management, I have specific training to work with autistic people and those with ADHD.

I hope I can help resolve what is troubling you. My style is warm and free of judgement. I can either give you the space to talk, or if you would rather not revisit painful memories, or require advice and techniques, there is plenty of useful work we can do. I am transparent in my methods and collaborate with clients to find the best interventions and tailor a unique treatment plan.

I came to counselling because I found I could help people in this subtle and kind way and that was an opportunity I felt i could not miss. I found the training and theory fascinating - it changed my life. It can be hard finding the right therapist, but it can be rewarding and life-changing. You may wish to have a safe space to explore issues and reflect on patterns, discovering new, more functional ways of relating to your past or present, or you may request practical tools to help you manage mood now and in the future.

I hold a BSc in CBT and Psychodynamic Therapy, and have completed recognised training in ACT, DBT, and life coaching,

I am a registered member of the BACP - a professional body regulating therapy in the UK. I abide by their ethical framework and undertake frequent CPD and regular supervision to make sure my work is informed and clinically safe.
